My work is a reflection of my interest in nature, human activities and the point at which they meet. I am interested in the relationships between resources, the design process and the life cycle of materials. I find it compelling when people defy the natural life cycle and/or function of a material to create aesthetically thought-provoking and functionally relevant solutions. I equate the use of reclaimed materials with personal responsibility. The artist is provided with an abundance of discarded material imbued with its own history that is no longer valuable in the eyes of its previous owner.
